Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) announced today WOW air service to Reykjavik, Iceland four times a week starting in May 2018.
“Cleveland has a strong international presence and is a major destination for tourists and business travelers,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. “WOW air is the second international carrier in the past few days to announce they will provide flights from Cleveland to Europe. This announcement speaks to the hard work by Cleveland to become a global provider, connecting us to the European market and positioning the region for future growth.”
“WOW brings low cost fares for leisure travelers who can fly to Iceland or continue on to the many other European destinations WOW has to offer,” said Airport Director Robert Kennedy. “The Cleveland market has responded favorably to low cost airlines like WOW air and we expect the response to them to be no different.”
“WOW air is very excited to bring our flight services to Ohio,” said Skúli Mogensen, CEO and Founder of WOW air. “We are proud of our growth over the last two years and are honored to partner with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to bring the Midwest low cost fares to Europe.”
WOW air’s expansion across the Midwest will provide millions of Americans with affordable access to major European cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris and London.
