Cleveland photographer Barney Taxel has spent over a decade, during all seasons, exploring this stunning landmark. The culmination of his personal project is this collection of over two hundred photographs that reveal the spirit and substance of Lake View Cemetery. He captures unusual images of the famous Garfield Memorial and Wade Chapel and reveals the artistic splendors of the landscape, stonework, and memorials.

Barney Taxel
Barney Taxel moved to Cleveland from New York City in 1967. He is an award-winning commercial and fine art photographer and teacher of photography. His work is exhibited and reproduced frequently in regional publications and The New York Times. Taxel has several books to his credit, including Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, Cleveland: Continuing the Renaissance, The Science of Music as Medicine, and Cleveland’s West Side Market: 100 Years & Still Cooking.
