Samantha Bias
Samantha Bias is a watercolor artist who paints moody portraits of women with a fusion of natural elements and found objects. Currently she works for the City of Cleveland teaching art to at-risk youth, adults and senior citizens. She also owns two small businesses; commissioning art projects with local small businesses and a face painting business.
Samantha has a strong background in art, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree, she is also currently in a bachelor's program for Fine Arts and Art Therapy. She has used her skill to gain recognition throughout Cleveland galleries and has won several major awards in juried art shows. Her artistic vision has led her down a path of healing her community, growing artistic awareness in the art world around Cleveland and supports small, locally women owned small businesses. This collective is inspired by the ever changing reality that is woman. The metaphorical sensation of the butterfly in metamorphosis is the general theme along with other winged creatures. Some of the pieces feature real insects that were ethically sourced and collected throughout the years that were found already fallen in our very own MetroParks. Also featured are found pressed flora introducing collaged found objects to the traditional portrait making for a 3D effect on a 2D surface.
