Newly constructed canopies provide more covered parking for passengers
Cleveland, July 1st, 2016 – After closing last year for construction, the Red and Blue parking Lots have reopened at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). Both lots are now covered by canopies.
“Winter in Northeast Ohio can be brutal, and with these canopies our passengers can now park their vehicle under cover and get from their car to the terminal without being exposed to the elements,” said Interim Director Fred Szabo. “We wanted to give our customers a premium parking option when flying in or out of our airport.”
The new canopy structures feature LED lighting and solar panels with an aesthetically pleasing design to greet passengers as they enter CLE.
With the opening of the new lots, CLE will be changing some of its parking fees as of July 1st, 2016. The Red Lot will go from $14/day to $15/day, the Blue Lot will go from $12/day to $13/day and we’re also changing the fee for the Smart Parking Garage from $18/day to $17/day and eliminating the reduced long-term rate.
The estimated cost of the project is $9.8 million. Ozanne Construction Company was the contractor for the project.
